The SmartBox team was working on the launch of a high-quality self storage brand during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, a period of constant change and uncertainty. SmartBox identified the demand for a more automated approach in the self storage industry and opted to work with Janus, the leaders in self storage manufacture, security and mezzanine design.

The Solution:

Utilising Janus Europe's expertise, SmartBox was able to open a well-designed facility and convert 75% of the site into lettable space. For example, SmartBox managed to maximise their rentable area using a carefully designed mezzanine. Working with Janus has benefited SmartBox as their experience from previous projects enabled them to optimise the site layout. As a result, the facility looks professional and aligns with the corporate brand identity, including the green door colour. In fact, many storers have stated a preference for SmartBox over competitors due to the facility's attractive interior design and unit layout.
