Responsibilities and duties for the role will include:
- Ensure planned preventative maintenance (PPM) is carried out in accordance with schedules
- Ensure all breakdowns are carried out constructively and accurately
- Ensure all parts are booked out correctly and recorded as necessary
- Lead any installation of electrical components and infrastructure, ensuring that sign offs, risk assessments and method statements are in place
- Attend and contribute to maintenance team meetings
- Work closely with Production to achieve production targets
- Carry out various tasks to include but are not exclusive to; plant start up, equipment performance monitoring, plant shut down
- Install, maintain and carry out improvements to equipment in the factory whilst working closely with other departments and their priorities
- Ensure maintenance connection is up to date including proposed corrective actions and that all actions are recorded in an appropriate and timely manner
- Carry out certified testing and inspection to comply with H&S regulation with regards to electrical connections
- Find & diagnose faults in electrical and mechanical engineering
- Follow the procedure for the ordering of parts and support the stock taking of spares
- Be involved in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance factory performance
- Be aware of, understand and adhere to environmental procedures
- Be aware of, understand and adhere to the maintenance of good manufacturing practice (GMP)
- Provide engineering support to both Peterlee and other locations if required, involving reactive maintenance 50% and planned maintenance 50%
- Be part of the factory improvement team
- Oversee sub-contractor works being undertaken
- Develop supplier relations to facilitate machinery spares capability
- Recommend Capex expenditure where appropriate
Key Attributes / Skills and Qualifications:
- Industry recognised electrical qualification – ONC/HNC or equivalent
- Certified to NICIEC 17th Edition or equivalent
- Experience in fault finding and programming invertors and various PLCs
- Can demonstrate experience in various site systems and machine specific control systems
- Quality focus
- Flexible approach to shift cover and over busy production periods
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to work as part of a team and on your own
- Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines, multi-tasking
- Proven experience in promoting and upholding current HSEQ legislation and protocols
- Take initiative where needed
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Competent in literacy and numeracy
