Power Platform Specialist

To design, build and deploy business intelligence solutions, reports and dashboards using Microsoft Power BI and other Power Platform components.

Responsibilities and duties for the role will include:

  • Interface with the business to gather requirements
  • Evaluate and translate technology business needs into actionable applications, ensuring quality delivery
  • Identify the best way to deliver projects based on their visuals and desired functionalities
  • Design and build solutions using SharePoint FrameWork/Power Automate functionality
  • Create content types, features, application pages, workflows
  • Develop automated reports and dashboards using Power BI and other reporting tools
  • Develop and configure SharePoint Online collaborative working spaces and associated workflows (using PowerApps, Flows and Forms)
  • Develop Mobile and Desktop Apps using Power Apps
  • Ensure solutions can be easily repeated using PowerShell script templates
  • Ensure release processes are followed including test plans and Change Control
  • Manage SharePoint Administration
  • Document SharePoint architecture, configuration, processes and users’ guides
  • Train users if required (light training)
  • Participate in ongoing cross-functional IT projects
  • Keep up to date with ongoing Microsoft developments and advise on future course of action to minimise business disruption with ongoing release cycles
  • Be familiar with MS Teams and the integration points with SharePoint Online
  • Be familiar with the use of Power BI for the easy presentation of information within SharePoint

Key Attributes / Skills and Qualifications:

  • Degree in computer science, information technology, information systems, or similar is preferred
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 Suite – Office, Teams, SharePoint
  • Solid knowledge of best practices in IT administration and system security
  • Exceptional organisational and time management skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • MS SharePoint and Teams developer skills with appropriate Microsoft/industry certifications
  • Experience working with Power Apps platform (Forms, BI, etc.) to deliver business change
  • Experience working directly with user teams to capture and document requirements and to help implement new solutions
  • Ideally exposure to MS Dynamics CRM/NAV and Dataverse
  • Experience of working in both Agile and Waterfall development models
