Based: Manufacturing Plant & Logistics Centre, Peterlee

Reports to: Production Manager
Responsibilities and duties for the role will include:
- Monitor line efficiencies and motivate production employees to ensure that production targets are met, in order to maximise efficiency
- Manage individual and team performance against targets and KPIs
- Manage training for all new production employees (manufacturing) on all aspects of production, machinery, operation, setting, safety, quality, etc.
- Carry out inductions for new starters
- Ensure that all production employees are completing paperwork correctly and carrying out checks as instructed
- Ensure that the factory areas are kept clean and tidy, encouraging a “clean as you go” policy
- Maintain a strong focus on maintaining and improving quality and service levels; make recommendations for processes, machinery, and resource improvements to enable current and future growth
- Actively seek to develop good relationships with all Janus Europe employees, suppliers and customers
- Lead by example to gain the respect, co-operation and support of colleagues
- Control and update end of month stock takes
- Control and update KPIs and the ERP system when required
- Ensure that HSEQ protocols are promoted and adhered to by all production employees or other stakeholders entering the production areas
- Ensure all transactions in the ERP system are recorded accurately and efficiently
- Conduct quality assurance inspections during shifts in conjunction with the QA Inspector
- Conduct safety inspections during shifts in conjunction with the HSEQ Manager
- Follow up any queries with suppliers/hauliers/office colleagues as appropriate
- Deputise for the Production Manager in their absence
- On occasion, be willing to work and represent the company on client sites, if required
- On occasion, be willing to support at exhibitions by helping to transport and put together displays, if required
- On occasion, be willing to work at other locations in the UK and overseas, if required
Key Attributes / Skills and Qualifications:
- 5+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
- 3 – 5 years’ experience in a supervisory position
- Experience of mentoring and developing a team
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques
- Excellent leadership skills
- A self-motivated and flexible attitude
- Proven experience in promoting and upholding current HSEQ legislation and protocols
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Experience of using an ERP system (desirable)
- Sound analytical decision-making skills
- Eagerness to learn and develop, making continuous improvements both professionally and personally
