Senior Project Manager (Major Projects)

To operationally project manage large installations as well as construction projects across the UK and Europe, ensuring efficient financial performance as well as contractual obligations and delivery milestones are met whilst ensuring customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities and duties for the role will include:

  • Project managing complex and larger-scale projects, monitoring them, to ensure all aspects of a job are appropriately scoped and costed, and delivery milestone risks identified and mitigated
  • Managing contract valuations
  • Managing subcontractor installation performance and adherence to contracts and implementing corrective action as required
  • Supervising any projects that require JCT/framework contracts, ensuring all contractual obligations are closely monitored and effectively documented
  • Liaising and coordinating within the Operations team for projects that require CDM, assisting to ensure compliance with all necessary legislation
  • Seamlessly controlling projects from sales handover to client handover
  • Coordinating multiple projects simultaneously
  • Coordinating purchasing, ordering and expediting of materials both in-house and from external suppliers
  • Providing technical support and liaising between the Sales team, the Production team and the client
  • Ability to work in primary or subcontractor role depending on project requirements
  • Financial accountability for performance, as well as ensuring any contract variations are properly scoped and charged to customers
  • Forecasting on-site project progress for revenue and gross reporting for own projects
  • Promoting good practices and operational excellence to enhance internal performance to ensure customer satisfaction

Key Attributes / Skills and Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience within the construction environment, including principle, main and subcontractor obligations, with an ability to hold yourself and other contractors to account
  • Significant JCT/building contracts experience, including negotiation and programme recovery
  • An ability to facilitate and lead programme recovery meetings with clients, subcontractors and project managers, including in high pressure situations
  • Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills
  • An effective communicator and calm manner, with a problem-solving mindset
  • Competency with the CDM Regulations 2015 and other appropriate construction standards
  • SSS (Site, Safety and Supervisor) training qualification or SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) qualification
  • European languages (desirable)
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to work within an ERP system (Microsoft Dynamics Navision) to evaluate project financial performance
