We’re very fortunate to have a brilliant ESG team based at our UK manufacturing site in Peterlee, County Durham. Paul Field, ESG Manager and Amanda Brown, ESG Coordinator manage a range of important initiatives to ensure that the company upholds the highest standards of environmental sustainability.
They are also heavily involved in corporate social responsibility activities, such as for example donating left over wood or other useful materials to local schools and charities. Another example is the recent donation of a very high-quality and much-needed external storage unit to Howletch Primary School in Peterlee so that the staff can safely store the children’s outdoor play equipment.
The Janus team is passionate about encouraging the next generation to get involved in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths) fields, either in further education or the workplace. In July this year, Paul, Amanda and Danny Graham, IT Systems Technician, took part in STEMFest 2023 in Newcastle. Coordinated by the North East STEM Hub, this wonderful 3-day event aims to motivate and inspire young people in the STEM subjects. The event involved over 50 North East businesses delivering hands-on activities, showcasing the range of careers and job roles available in the STEM sector to more than 3,000 local primary and secondary school students.
