Responsibilities and duties for the role will include:
- Maintaining, developing and managing customer relationships.
- Cross and up-sell the company’s full product range where possible, whilst keeping the best interests of the client in mind
- Working collaboratively with other departments and stakeholders to understand and meet the potential customers’ needs
- Logging and maintaining all relevant customer and lead information in the CRM database
- Understanding key products and communicating the benefits and key attributes to potential clients
- Being aware of project cost implications and avoid any pricing pitfalls
- Working together with relevant stakeholders to resolve pricing, invoicing, credit, payment and/or shipping discrepancies for clients
- Dealing with questions, complaints and providing conflict resolution in a professional manner
- Preparing proposals within the quote model of a professional and detailed standard
- Ensuring that ‘handovers’ to the Operations department are of an excellent quality and complete with all required information
- Liaising with suppliers and obtaining competitive quotations
- Liaising with other departments, including Production, Logistics and Finance, to support with the successful completion of all projects
- Interacting with Sales Managers regarding client based tasks & market information
- Assisting the sales team if and when necessary should workloads permit to ease that of others
Key Attributes / Skills and Qualifications:
- Ability to estimate projects from concept to quote completion and to understand drawings and bills of quantities
- Knowledge of a CRM or similar system
- A working understanding of our ERP system, Microsoft Dynamics Navision (desirable)
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Project (desirable)
- Ability to communicate effectively and liaise with clients, suppliers and internal departments such as Sales, Finance, Production and Logistics
- A friendly, outgoing nature – enjoying talking to customers on the phone is a must!
- A high level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
- Strong organisation skills and the ability to multi task
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to reply efficiently and without delay
- Effective communicator and team player
- Site survey skills and an understanding of the self-storage industry (desirable)
- You may be required to visit the site/store and to undertake a building survey of the clients key requirements as well as attend trade shows/fairs
